CHDN recently worked alongside S.J. Cheesman Engineering with the removal of two Cranes from the Leigh Creek coalmine. They were Re-installed in S.J. Cheesman’s workshop in Port Pirie.

This project included:

• Safely disconnecting the electrical power supply to the crane, ensuring all electrical connections are properly isolated and secured.
• Removal of electrical components, ensuring proper labelling and documentation for reinstallation if necessary.
• De-energisation procedures to eliminate any residual electrical energy within the crane system, ensuring the safety of personnel involved in the removal process.
• Adhering to safety regulations and standards to prevent electrical hazards during the removal process, including proper grounding and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
• Proper disposal or relocation of electrical components in accordance with environmental regulations and project requirements.
• Documentation of the electrical removal process, including records of disconnection procedures, equipment removal, and any modifications made to the electrical system of the crane.
• Safely reconnecting the electrical power supply to the crane, ensuring all connections are properly secured and tested.
• Installation of electrical components: following proper labelling and documentation for accurate reinstallation.
• Energisation procedures, ensuring all safety measures are in place to protect personnel and equipment.
• Testing and commissioning of the electrical system to verify proper functionality and compliance with safety standards.
• Final inspection to ensure all electrical connections are secure and the crane is ready for operation.
• Documentation of the reconnection process, including records of installation, testing, and commissioning procedures for future reference and maintenance
